A-L |M-R | S-ZLEE, JAMES M.
Contibuting Author on Crows on the Cross Irish-American author James M. Lee was born in a suburb of Boston in the late 1950's, but has lived and worked in cities from coast to coast.
Lee's unconventional upbringing, which included a nomadic family life and home-schooling after age thirteen, has brought unique perspective to both his creative and practical lives. In the 1970's, he authored numerous books, from an illustrated series of children's books, to novels in the science fiction and fantasy genres, and mainstream and nonfiction works.
In the 1980's, in connection with a long history of community activism, he developed a system called Peaceful Dynamism. It presented the premise that traditional methods in business, teaching and home life, which are based on rigid structures of stress, criticism and punishment, would benefit greatly from change. Lee's system teaches and guides through focused positive validation of personal strengths. Through the 1990's and 2000's to date, he has consistently offered free volunteer services and programs in the most damaged areas of society, from dangerous neighborhoods, to broken homes, to institutions in the mental health industry.
